Photo Ordering problem

Hi folks,

I have a problem with photo ordering in PhocaGallery. Basicly I I try to re-order photos it duplicates the Joomla ordering systems number, rather than reordering all images. There is no sub categories or anything either, this is simply in the same category. I have tried both 3.1.1 & 3.1.2 beta. It is on Joomla 1.7. I'm currently running the site offline.
The nature of the site (a collectible cards one) means that I will need to make use of this ordering system, so as to keep the scans I make in order of release date.

As you can see when trying to re-order images it doubles up on the ordering, rather than ordering properly so as you can imagine its a bit of a mess! RSGallery2 doesn't suffer the same issue however I'd much prefare to use this component as its miles ahead, unfortunately though I need ordering to work

Hi, hmmm, testing now without any such problem, without any such duplicating - the reordering is made in fact by Joomla! method in parent class - Phoca Gallery only adds specific parameters to order ... I will take a look at it and will do some more tests

Thanks Jan,

I've tried installing/uninstalling Phoca and still the same, I'll try deleting the db tables and reinstalling tomorow and let you know how I get on. In case it makes a difference I uploaded around ~300 files, using Java & JS multi-add uploader

Hi Jan,

I've tried a brand new Joomla 1.7.3 install with just Phoca Gallery 3.1.1 and still the issue persists. I should mention that ordering via the small arrows is fine, but ordering via the image editor is not. For example ordering like this:

Hope this explains it clear enough . Btw simply using the up and down arrows would not be feasible in this project, as in some categories I'll have 300+ items, and be constantly updating it every once in a while

Hi, do you get problems in the select box, in case the ordering is right in the standard list (clicking save icon should set the ordering right to different values). It can happen that some obsolete data were stayed in the database and after upgrade this needs to be fixed - just click on save icon in the list and check the select box again Do you get the same problem with 3.1.2 Beta?

I sorted the problem, I didn't actually notice that little floppy save icon next to ordering until the other day! So this is sorted although trying to order from within the image options still doesn't work, but the other way works fine so its not that big a problem

I get similar behaviour in Joomla! so will wait if there will be some solution - to implement it in Phoca.
