New user and the search feature of the forum is "unavailable at this time" so forgive me if this has been answered.
I am migrating to Phoca Gallery with pictures already on my my web host. I renamed all the images/directories and was multi-adding 1 year at a time when I got the wonderful fatal error (tried to allocate more memory than php would give me, numbers vary). I cleaned out that directory and tried adding just one picture back in. To be fair, this one is a big larger in file size than the others, but it still crashed. I tracked down a smaller one from that set and it added, so I sorted by file size and planned on working my way up to find the limit.
The trouble is that the next image I added also crashed, and it was smaller than most images in that directory (about 2.2mb versus a max of 2.7mb in that folder and 3.5mb in other folders added fine).
Now I have a LOT of images I am adding. Does the number of images in the gallery matter? I am up to about 3000, but have plenty more to go. What about images in a category? Any idea why it is acting this way and what I can do?
I do not have access to php.ini on my host, but it is set to 32MB. I want to be able to load full resolution images, and have set the options in Phoca to allow this, and haven't had issues until I got to this folder.

Hi, server is not like your PC, most of servers cannot create thumbnails from images larger than 2mb (some have problems with 1mb), see:
