Moving PhocaGallery to new Joomla Install

Post by bennychains »

Hi.

First, i have read this link: https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... to-another

Here are my concerns:

1. I have a massive photo library (i use this tool to support a nightclub's nightly photo posting). So, there are a lot of folders and settings in place.
2. I want to be able to export the settings, and folder structures.

I have already moved the phocagallery images and thumbs to the new installation.

My specific question is, based on the instructions in the link above, can you further explain, in paragraph a) how to IMPORT THE DATABASE? ( i am assuming the DB contains the folder structure in phocagallery and settings).

a) copy via FTP from O to your PC all image files with thumbnails and export your database from O, then copy your all images with thumbnails to your server N and import the database.

Thanks

Hi, exporting/importing database data should be done e.g. through the phpMyAdmin, just backup the phoca gallery tables (the names can be found in install.bak.sql) and import them to new site (this in case if the old phoca gallery is Phoca Gallery) If not, then specific SQL queries needs to be done - from old database columns to new in Phoca Gallery - but this is very specific as every photo gallery has different database columns.
