Hello Phoca Support Team,
I'm an author of one CAPTCHA extension for Joomla.
Our plugin adds our CAPTCHA to your Phoca Guestbook 1.x.
And all our customers were able to disable your standard CAPTCHAs in the old versions (1.x).
But now we cannot find this option in your Phoca Guestbook 2.0.1
Could you please tell us how we can disable your standard CAPTCHAs in 2.0.1 by using your admin GUI without "hacking" the sources?
Thanks in advance.
How to disable your standard CAPTCHAs in 2.0.1?

Form a quick look in the documentation I'd say: Enable Captcha - No
in the configuration. But I guess you would have found that one on your own?! Does this one not exist in the global config?

We didn't see the Options icon in top right corner. Three persons didn't see. Now we see it.
Thank you again.

Re: How to disable your standard CAPTCHAs in 2.0.1?
No problem, I am still wondering why one has the need to use different captchas than the one built in
The choice is pretty good already. What can your component do for PGB users that PGB can't? The one thing I can think of is, to use the same Captcha apperance in different components across the site...

Our CAPTCHA can protect PGB users against spam-bots and against the most part of human spam.Morl99 wrote:No problem, I am still wondering why one has the need to use different captchas than the one built inThe choice is pretty good already. Unfortunately, your standard CAPTCHAs cannot do it.
It is not your issue it is the issue of any CAPTCHA except our.
I sent some info to Jan by using https://www.phoca.cz/contact
But I haven't received any reply.
Could you please allow me to send private messages on this forum?
The reason is that I have some info regarding your standard CAPTCHAs which must not be published.
Thanks in advance

I don't see PGB on your websites. Could you please specify the direct URLs?
@Morl99 or @Jan :Morl99 wrote:No problem, I am still wondering why one has the need to use different captchas than the one built inThe choice is pretty good already. Re: How to disable your standard CAPTCHAs in 2.0.1?
Actually since 1.5 PGB is able to protect from spambots and most human spam as well, utilizing the akismet-spam-protection service. It is missing in 2.x though.
Since I am no moderator and not affiliated with Jan in any way, I cannot allow anything
You could just write him an email? If he hasn't replied, well stay patient, I bet he has hundreds of mails regarding phoca components...
Oh and don't you think it is a little blunt to claim, that your captcha is the only one in the world, that does a decent work?

Our CAPTCHA is not an image. Any image CAPTCHA can be transferred to third party for automatic recognition or for solving by humans.Morl99 wrote: Oh and don't you think it is a little blunt to claim, that your captcha is the only one in the world, that does a decent work?
Our CAPTCHA is not a text question. Any text question CAPTCHA can be solved automatically by using spammers' DBs.
Our CAPTCHA is not a simple mathematic task CAPTCHA. Any simple mathematic task can be solved automatically by using spammers' software.
PGB uses just CAPTCHAs above. That is why I sent our suggestions to Jan. Unfortunately I still haven't received his reply.
Does anybody know how I can contact Jan except using https://www.phoca.cz/contact?
Thanks in advance.

Oh no do not get me wrong! I never wanted to imply, that your captcha is not good, neither that the one Jan implemented is sufficient. I only wanted to state, that there might be other captchas out there, that also do a great job at preventing spam.Max_1 wrote:Our CAPTCHA is not an image.
