view the newest image as folder icon - subcategory problem

Hi!

since I have installed and configurated my phoca gallery I got one problem. My images are always namend with my name and the year-month-day... and so on, so I can view the newest picture on the first place. in subcategories it works well, the first picture of the category is the folder-picture, but in the main category it does not. the ordering title descending shows the picture of the alphabetical first one, for example in "wirbellose" it shows the newest picture of "liebellen" and not the picture of "spinnen und krebse" which is the newest one in all the four subcategories. you can see that here: www.naturphotos.net

Hi, did you look at all parameters to order the view - there are different - one for folder icons, second for images themselves, etc.

yes I did, the images themselves are title descending and the folder icons are the same.

Ich beschreibe mein Problem gerade noch mal auf deutsch:

Ich lasse meine Bilder in der Category-Ansicht anzeigen, lasse jeweils die Bilder nach Titel Absteigend sortieren, was dazu führt, daß immer die neuesten Bilder an erster Stelle stehen. Soweit so gut, meine Folder Bilder lasse ich ebenfalls nach Titel Absteigend sortieren. Innerhalb einer Subcategory funktioniert das auch einwandfrei, so wird immer das "neueste" Bild als Folder Bild angezeigt, jetzt gehe ich aber in mein "root" und lasse mir die Hauptkategorien anzeigen, dort wird nicht jeweils das neueste Bilder der untergeordneten Subkategorien angezeigt, sondern hier wird das Bild angezeigt, was bei alphabetischer Sortierung der Subkategorien an erster Stelle steht.

Beispiel: man schaut in Wirbellose, auf der Startseite zeigt es eine Liebelle an, das ist aber nicht das neueste Bild innnerhalb aller untergeordneten Subkategorien, es wäre eins aus Spinnen. das Libellenbild für die Hauptkategorie "Wirbellose" wird angezeigt, weil L vor S im Alphabet kommt, bennen ich Liebellen um in Xliellen, wird das Spinnenbild angezeigt.

Ich hätte gerne, daß meine Hauptkategorien jeweils das neueste Bild der Subkategorien anzeigt, d.h. in dem Fall das Spinnenbild, sollte ein neues z.B. in Schmetterlinge dazukommen, dann das Schmetterlingsbild.

Hoffe, daß ich das klar beschrieben habe.

Hi, if you mean the image displayed instead of folder icon, did you set the ordering for this in parameters. Displaying of image instead of folder icon - ordering has own parameter to be set.

Yes, the image instead of the Folder Icon, temporaly I have set it to randoom, because the behaviour title descending does not work with the subcatecories, the folder image was taken from the alphabetical first subfolder and not from all subfolder the newest with the "highest" number in file name.

Hi, yes this is the problem, this needs to be customized but can be a memory killer - to search all subcategories and compare in which subcategory the latest images exists
