Show top of images in thumbnail

Hi,

we have several images which are much more higher than broad which will result in showing just the middle of the image in the thumbnail. Unfortunately these are articles in some newspapers. Now some heads are cut off in the thumbnails.
Is there any possibility to show the top of the pictures in the thumbnails?
