Fatal error: Out of memory... in the back end

I'm having this same problem with Phoca 2.8.0 and joomla 1.5.23 and it's a new install of Phoca so I don't have any categories or images or anything extra added but I'm getting the memory issue when I click on categories. I even raised the memory limit to 900MB and I still get the message. I'm kind of lost at this point as to why
