problem with registered files

Hello,
I have defined that each download in my site will be for registered only.
I made a menu with 4 categories and each have some files to download from.

the problem is when someone is not logged in, he presses the link or menu and sees a white rectangle where the download should have been.
there isn't anything that tells him he need to be logged in!

How does it usually work ? can a message appear "you need to log in in order to download the files" and he will be directed to the login of the site?

Hi, in such case, set that the files will be displayed for unregistered. Unregistered can see such files but after clicking on them, they will be redirected to login page.

This settings you can find at the bottom of edit the file in the administration.
