What do I use for Gallery with auto slideshow in Joomla 1.7

I'm confused by all the different modules, extensions, & plugin download choices.

1) I'm going to use Joomla 1.7 (which i'm pretty new to)

2) I'm looking to have a gallery where there can be text under each thumbnail and when you click on a thumb in a gallery, it will take you to a slideshow that automatically starts playing.

I'm see there are so many things to download. Which component and/or module and/or plugins do i need for this?

Hi, for example Phoca Gallery can display thumnails and if you click on image, the slideshow will start - in case you will use shadowbox method as popup method - see:

1) do you know, will i be able to add text below each thumb in the gallery?
(I just don't want to spend too much time trying to learn this software if it can't do that).

2) i can't figure out where in my profile to add a signature. might you know that?

1) really cannot say as I don't know your skills

2) it is disabled because of security reasons.
