Multiple upload problem

Post by hdissing »

Since upgrading to Phoca Gallery 3.0.2 (from 2.7 - as far as I remember...) I have not been able to use Multiple Upload in Frontend.
If I choose Flash as upload method I get the message: "You browser doesn't have Flash installed." Which is wrong, as I do have Flash installed and fully functioning on other pages and sites. I have tried with both Flash 9 and Flash 10 - same result.
Same problem in both Firefox 6.0.2 and IE 9.
The Web Developer plugin in Firefox reports that "pgJQ("#flash_uploader").pluploadQueue is not a function".

If I change upload method, the result is the same, except the above error does not show "flash_uploader" but the chosen method.

I'm on Joomla!1.7.

I'm kind of lost as to where to go to look for a solution...

Did you set the maximum file size of a picture to 0 in the options in order to have no restriction of size? Undo this an it'll work ..at least that solved my problem

Thanks for the reply - but no, I didn't set maximum file size to 0.
I think it's a jQuery problem. I unpublished a module (in this case Art Image Cycle) and everything was good. The module seemed to load a different (older?) version of jQuery, which in turn broke the script to allow multiple upload.
I'm absolutely no expert in jQuery, so I'm not able to point my finger at one script or the other. I can just say that on my system multiple upload didn't work alongside Art Image Cycle.

Hi, the used JQuery is in NonConflict mode, and should work ok with other javascripts

Well, that was what I thought too!
And despite my minimal knowledge of jQuery, I really don't think (anymore...) that I posted my problem at the right place. I have done a little more testing, and the module mentioned has an option whether to load jQuery or not; if you know that jQuery always gets included in the page by ex. another module, you can choose to not load jQuery. If this option ('no') is selected, there is no problem. If jQuery is loaded ('yes'), the multiple upload problem strikes. So my best bet is, that it is the module which 'breaks the rules'.
Sorry! Sometimes, where the problem surfaces, is not where it comes from :o)

Hi, which version of Phoca Gallery you are using, in latest version loading of Jquery is not managed by Phoca Gallery itself, but it just load the Joomla! one, so it just used the system Jquery library in Joomla!.
