I have recently installed Joomla 1.7 and Phoca Download 2.1.1 on Godaddy.
However, I notice that when I try to upload files through the front end I get a 404 - component not found as I press the upload button. I have tried to deactivate SEF in global configuration, ut that doesn't help.
I have tried with IE9 and latest Firefox.

No one got anything on this?
The site in question is www.travellerfreeport.com
The upload files button is in the top menu bar.
I am stumped on why this happens. My host is GoDaddy if that is of any help.
I have tried to fiddle with the various url settings in global configuration.

Strange, I can't find any configuration that prevents public users to access the module when the menu item is public.
If you want, I can send you a test user account with password, so there is no need to register.

Hi, now I am confused.
Module - I think you mean component
But what is the problem - 404 on the upload site or preventing users from displaying the ucp for public?

Re: Phoca Download throws a 404 in J1.7
HI,
problem solved it seems. After I made the upload files menu iten public registered users could upload files.
What happened is that in the upload part of the Phoca download component would say give a 404 error when the upload file button was pressed after file and category had been selected, preventing users from uploading files.
When I made the upload menu item public rather than registered the component worked perfectly.
