No images, please help

Post by GodsOrifice »

Please help as i am at my wits end with this. I cannot get any images to show in my webpage and am trying to use the phoca gallery slideshow pugin. So far i have installed the Phoca gallery slideshow plugin, the Phoca gallery button plugin and the Phoca Gallery. I have used the button to create the code and have uploaded the images i want but i cant find any info on how to make all this work. Can some one please help me by giving me a step by step guide on how to get this running. i.e. do i first install all the plugins and modules which i have done, then i have to create a menu? then assign the menu to the relevant position? then create a category? and then create an article with the code in and then replace the id with the id of what? the id of the slideshow plugin or the phoca gallery module? I have no clue in what order to do this and what i have to do. So forgive me for being a little thick but i have been trying all sorts of combinations for the last 4 days now and still i have not even managed to get anything displayed. I cant find anything with good, clear, step by step guide for those of us who have no clue. So please help if anybody thinks they could walk me through this process either on the forum or on skype or whatever then please feel free as im getting desperate now!!!!
Also im sorry if this is in the wrong place or if i have broken any forum rules, i have tried to stick to the guidelines.
Many thanks, GodsOrifice - Joomla 1.7 - CarbonLab template

Hi, did you read Phoca Gallery user guide, and did you try to display images in component (to start with this)?

Yes thanks for the link i have read this information but i already have the code entered into the article as it says but the code oi have is this:{pgslideshow id=10002|width=640|height=480|delay=3000|image=L}
The issue im having is what order do i do things in. Do i create a menu first then a category if so what category do i use and do i need to enter any text into the text field and what next....this is why i need a step by step instruction for this proceedure. The guides are fine if you want to change the colour of size or this that and the other but there doesnt seem to be any guide which tells you what the process is from start to finish. I have watch the video for installing the phoca gallery but that is all it is? Installing it, it doesnt then tell you how to get it working. Usually when i do guides for people i use screenshots and information with all the steps need to carry out the task. If somebody wants to help i would be more than happy for them to pm me and i will give them the login details for the admin backend so they can see what i have done, or have not done as the case seems to be. Please let me know if you think you can help me with this Jan. i would really appreciate it....thanks

Hi, I think then you need to see some Joomla! tutorial more then Phoca. If you want to use the plugin code in article, you need to know how Joomla! plugins are working, what is a component, what is a module, what is a content plugin, etc.

Phoca Gallery Plugin:
https://www.phoca.cz/phocagallery-plugin
Demo:
https://www.phoca.cz/demo/phocagallery-plugin

Beause of hundreds of not solved tasks and my overloading, I think, I cannot help you through a PM :-( :-( :-(

Did you check the Plugin Manager to see if the plugins were enabled?

I don't know how many times I have had a DOH! moment when I found one not enabled.
