Hallo!
I use Joomla 1.7.0 in combination with Phoca gallery 3.0.1. My Frondend Template ist "JSN EPIC". I use the gallery on an internal basis (just for registered members).
I'm facing difficulties on the frontend. I takes about 15 secounds to open a thumbnail picture (from the gallery category). I have added about 900 pictures to that category. When you click on the picture, the box apears and the whole browser freezes for 15 secounds. After that the picture (75kb!) is shown. When you click to the next picture, it almost takes another 10 secounds...
When i go to the backend and click on the same picture in that gallery, it takes less than a secound to open it.
Has anyone an idea, where that performance problems might come from? Thank you very much.
regards
mat

Hi, the count of images does not influence the performance, as only one image per script is selected from the database, try to check if e.g. there is no system plugin which e.g. check something, etc.

Thanks for your reply. I don't know which system plugins could possibly be load by opening the popup-window...
Most of my trackers like Google Analytics and Etracker are already loaded by opening the gallery page. It could possibly be a browser problem!?! I'll try another computer this evening and come back with some feedback soon. Thanks for so far.

Re: Speed problems on the frontend
It seems, that my problem is caused by the browser Firefox 5.0 in combination with some specific plugins. Other browsers work without that huge delay...
So we can close this thread...
Thanks.
