Comments only allowed for Super Users

Hey folks,

after trying for a few days no I really need your help:

I enabled the default comment-function inside the system parameters.
(By the way: I'm running Joomla! 1.7.0)

As I tested the component I did it only by using my admin with Super User permissions.
Now I went live with my site and expirienced that only Super Users can create comments on pictures.
Now I'm really bored about it so I need you help.

How do I enable the default comment function to registered users, too?
Does anybody know the trick to do that?

But if registered Users are default....what happened to my system?
I didn't change anything. So where is the setting I can adjust to bring this function up?

Default means, after installing, normally registered users can leave a comment, so try to recheck all the settings, if there is no change made which prevent from it.
