Trying to enable front-end image upload into a category

Post by hopekiah »

Hi there Jan! I am attempting to enable front-end image uploading for myself and for my client on this Joomla 1.7 site. Here is the temporary url: http://66.147.244.58/~santafh6/
I am following the instructions on this doc:
https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... ser-upload
User Folder - select the folder on your server disc (images/phocagallery/selected-folder ... selected-folder is a folder created in images/phocagallery/ folder e.g. via FTP or Media Manager) where the uploaded images will be saved. If the User Folder is not set, frontend user will be not able to upload images.
I went into the category in question and assigned myself and my client rights for upload and delete.

The images in the category were already in the root phocagallery folder, but I created a subfolder called "tennis." I was unable to effectively SELECT the folder from within the dialogue box, so I typed the path.
See the screenshot here: http://www.santafe-webdesign.com/images ... /phoca.png

Then I logged in to the front end and attempted to upload images into the category. The progress bar acted like the image was uploading, but it never got to the server.

After attempting to upload, there is a prompt on the web page saying: defined user folder does not exist.

I am happy to add you as a user if you would like to test this.

Hi, you should only set the "tennis" as folder not the whole path

I tried a few different things, and finally just put the word "tennis" in the path and it works! Thanks!
