I have also the exact same problem here with 1.8.2.
tmp is writable and FTP is enabled. The file is transferred, but as the earlier writer says, the image is not added to the library.

Some more information for you:

I changed from using PHP 4.4.4 to 4.3.11, and now it works! Any idea what it might be then?

no idea, but maybe some function can cause the problem with adding filename into a database (maybe some check - if the file exists, or ... ???)

Hi Jan, it seem the link above is not working anymore.... "404 - Article #0 not found"

Recently, I install Phocagallery v2.8.0 for my Joomla 1.5.23.
The extension is great! Easy to use and no problem at backend (administrator).

But I get dizzy when I (especially my friends) want to upload from frontend (log in as publisher, or even as administrator) to the our gallery. As we know, backend is for administrator purpose, and very risky for non-technical to access it.

I have read the documentation from the link below:
https://www.phoca.cz/documents/17-phoca- ... n-frontend
In Phoca Download, users can upload files in frontend. Before they can upload, it is necessary to set all of the following elements:

Creating menu link to User Upload Layout - go to Administration - Menu Manager - e.g. Main Menu - create new menu link - select Phoca Download and click User Upload Layout. Set the name for this menu link and set parameters.
Parameter Enable User Upload must be set to Yes (or Use Global in case, it was set in Global Configuration of Phoca Download - in Joomla! 1.5). It is recommended to set all other upload parameters (because of security)
Users need to get upload rights for specific category. It means, you should go to Administration - Phoca Download - Categories. Select a category and edit it (or create new one). In edit mode of the category, select which users will have upload rights to this category.
I didn't found Phoca Download or User Upload Layout option at Menu Manager >> Main Menu (or else) >> New (Menu Item).

Menu Manager >> Main Menu >> New (Menu Item) >> Select Menu Item Type >> Internal Link >> Phoca Gallery >> ...

... In the Phoca Gallery options are:
* All Categories >> Phoca Gallery Category List Layout
* Category >> Phoca Gallery Category Layout
* Cooliris 3D Wall >> Cooliris 3D Wall Layout
* User Control Panel >> Phoca Gallery User Control Panel Layout

Is there any documentation or user manual guide, related to this issue??

Thanks & Regards,
Farid Primadi

Hi, you should not read the guide for the Phoca Download, just read the guide for Phoca Gallery:
