Hello Everyone!
I am thinking about upgrading my site from Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 1.6. I was wondering if there is a away to easy get all my categories and images from Phocal Gallery Version 2.0 to Version 1.3? I would like to do this with out having to recreate everything. My current phoca gallery has over 2,000 images and a bunch of categories.
Thanks,
Chris

Hi, for now there is no upgrading script, so the best way is to copy the folder structure to new site and use Mutliple add function to add the images to the system.

I am also interested to be expected that this will be an automatic migration script, because hundreds of galleries are reluctant to do it again by hand:)
if any, when it will be?

Re: Upgrade from Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 1.6
I have managed to copy all my categories from 1.5 to 1.6.
This is what I've done:
1. I've kept my 1.5 site alive while I was upgrading to 1.6. Always make copies and backups when you make these kind of changes
2. After upgrading with the upgrade tool jUpdate, I've installed Phoca for 1.6
3. The structure of the image folders of Phoca were copied to the new site /images/phocagallery/albumx
4. I've exported the tables of the old websites database and changed the prefix of the tables from 'jos_' to 'j16_', the prefix of the new sites and imported them into the 1.6 site.
5. All that's left to be done is change the settings/options in the administrator to one's preferences.
I hope this helps you with migrating your sites.
Good luck and happy developing!
