Menu for Private and Public galleries

Hi,

I'm seeking for some advices.
I've got 2 parents categories : Public & Private
I've got two different menu items, one for public, the other for private.

I would like to list of the private categories (authorized for the loggued user) automatically, that are child of the Private, without listing all of the galleries child of the other parent.

Is there any way of doing this ?

I'm using 3.0.0 RC4 on Joomla 1.6.3

Public categories are listed for all users, private (protected by some rights - menu link, or category) are displayed only for registered or selected users, it the public category has unpublic parent category, it can be displayed but only directly

Hi,

On this site, I'd like to get a set of public categories and some private categories.
The way I'd like to get it working is to have a private gallery menu that list all of the galleries that are available for the selected user, but without listing the public one.

I've created two galleries (public and private) to split each type of galleries.
Public
public 1
public 2
public 3
public 4
Private
private 1
private 2
private 3
private 4

What I'd like to have is a menu item that list of the categories that are childs of "Private" without list those that are child of "Public". Then the privileges given on child objects (Private 1, Private 2...) will make sure we're getting only the one we need.

I could make one menu item by gallery, but this will not really make the job if we're getting several galleries available.

Hi, you can create different links in menu manager, one to the private main category second to the public main category - but the tree will be allways completed, it means if you will go to private category you can go throgh the tree to all categories view (then the button to all categories view must be disabled in parameters)
