Strange TTF Captcha behavior, please help

Hi,

We are using Phoca Guestbook on one of our clients website, we have a strange problem with the TTF Captcha.
Sometimes, well most of the times, some of the letters are displayed in the same spot, on the left of the captcha field.

This way it's not even possible for a human to read it.
The standard captcha is not an option because then the guestbook was still a victim for spammers.

For you to see, i enabled the strange behaving TTF Captcha on the dutch language selection of the site:

Do you have any idea how to fix this?
We are using: PHP 5.3.5, Joomla 1.5.22, Phoca Guestbook 1.4.4.

Hi, this seems like your GD library on your server has some problems with coordinates, here in forum, one user had the same problem (not sure if this was solved), maybe try to search this forum to find more info. I have tested the ttf on a lot of testing servers without any problem, so for now I really cannot say what can be wrong there

Thank you, i found the article:

Its seems to be the same problem, we also have the hosting provider in common....one.com

I tested the same Guestbook version with another hosting provider, and guess what....no problem.
I will contact one.com about this.

I've got the same problem. With standard captcha a lot of spam messages... with TTF captcha visitors cannot post messages most of the time.

Hi, really confusing situation, I have tested the ttf on a lot of different test servers, still get no such problem anywhere hmmm
