Hi
I have been working on putting phoca gallery on a club website that I am associated with, I am impressed so far with the features of the gallery.
I am having a little trouble with the categories and enabling registered users access to the categories I have created in the admin area.
I am running Joomla 1.6 and Phoca Gallery 3.0.0 RC4.
It seems no matter what I do the categories do not come up in the frontend for the registered users to select to upload images to, I have tried setting
Access Rights "All Registered Users" and selecting each user as well.
I have also tried the same with, Upload Rights and Delete Rights.
I have tried the owner as Super User and Nobody.
What I would ideally like to do is create the categories in the Admin section and not allow the registered users to create their own categories but only add to the existing ones, I do not see this option anywhere so I believe this might have to be done by removing some code or just setting new categories to be admin approved .
To do this I need the categories showing up in the Front end if anyone knows what I am doing wrong here please let me know.
Thanks.
Jamie.

Re: Locking categories
Hi, there are two places where users can upload images:
- in UCP, there they can create subcategories
- in category view, there they cannot create subcategories there,
https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... ser-upload
Testing the category view, I see no problem for registered useres to upload images there ???

Re: Locking categories
Jan,
first of all thanks for your reply.
I am sorry I tried to make my post as informative as I could so it could be understood and I misses some vital information.
I have disabled uploading of images from the gallery view, I only want club members who I will provide a login to to be able to upload images from the UCP.
What is happening is I have created categories in the Administrator panel, it appears that as a registeres user when I log onto the UCP these categories are not available and each user muct create their own Main Category.
I was hoping there was a way I could set up the UCP so the registered users could only upload images to the already configured categories.
Is this possible?
Thanks.
Jamie.

Re: Locking categories
Yes, just set this category in admin, set owner as the user who should be able to upload there pictures. After this user is logged in in UCP, its main category will be created.

Re: Locking categories
Jan,
I have Joomla 1.6 and 3.0.0 RC4 and have the same issue. I have a Main Category called hangers and would like users to be able to create a subcategory under that main category.
Hangers
-User1
-User2
-User3
Then the user should be able to upload to that subcategory. Is this possable? All the users will be in the Registered user group.
Thanks for creating a great product.
Bill
