No Pagination on pages (other threads don't help)

Hi Phoca Team and Supporters,

after a few other problems that were solved through updates or removal of my own stupidity i have another problem.

The pagination on this Joomla page doesn't work:

(you have to click down in the category tree about 3 times until you get not an empty category but one with pictures inside, they don't have the pagination)

I set all pagination-settings to yes, and 20 pictures per page, but if a page has 50 pictures it only shows 20 and no pagination and no forward or back button to navigate through the pages.

I read something about re-saving links here, but i don't understand what that means. Can someone go into more dtail on that if that's my problem?

Which version of Phoca Gallery are you using? How about the version of Joomla?

show_pagination_limit_category

you can find in:

components\com_phocagallery\views\category\tmpl\default.xml

it is a part of parameters basic.

I am using Phoca Gallery in a site with many categories and I also face the pagination problem.
"Display Num" and pagination works fine in the 1st level list of categories
Choosing one category the pagination of the list of categories under that category (2nd level list) does NOT work. The "Display Num" appears but there are all the categories together. If you choose from the drop list another "Display Num" it simply does not work again.
Finally if you choose a category with images inside the "Display Num" and pagination works fine.

I update to 2.6.0 beta but the problem persists.

As I have seen all other threads about pagination I believe that there is a bug out there or there is something we missed?
I made the changes in the code as JabulaZa suggests but without any success.
I run phoca 2.5.8 in Joomla 1.5.14

Of course Phoca is still the best Joomla gallery component and we love it.

First categories list - "Display Num" and pagination works fine. See the link below:
.../index.php?option=com_phocagallery&view=categories&Itemid=28

If you choose the last (not locked) category then you have again a list of categories.
But "Display Num" does not work and you have all categories together. See the link below:
.../index.php?option=com_phocagallery&view=category&id=148:photo-gallery-&Itemid=28

Well if you choose then anyone category to see the included photoes "Display Num" and pagination works fine.

Is there any way to solve the problem?

I tried the 2.6.0 alpha1 and alpha2 locally but I cannot see the first category list.

Hi, in the first link there is Category Pagination - and it is enabled

in the second link, there doesn't work Category Pagination but Image Pagination, so try to check:

if the Image Pagination is eanbled in Itemid 28 (menu link to gallery)

and check Parameters component for default value of image pagination

(or let me know your login to admin site so I can take a look at it - into PM)

Hi I am also having pagination problems with the gallery and cannot see all the images in the folders. There is no link in the folder to select to go to the next page.

I have read through the previous posts and it makes sense...

Only problem is i cannot find the menus that you are talking about.

When logged in i go to. Components/PhocaGallery/ Then i do not see any of the other menus that you have suggested eg, components\com_phocagallery\views\category\tmpl\default.xml, or /components/com_phocagallery/views/category/tmpl/default.php

I have tried re-setting the page numbers to 20 display pictures only and also up to display all... Nothing

I am using Joomla version 1.5.18 and phoca gallery 2.7.6

Enable Thumbnails Creation are activated

and so is Pagination Thumbnail Creation... Unsure if this will be an issue but im going now to try turning them off.. If i can find the menu for it.,

Hi, you should set pagination for frontend not for e.g. thumbnail creation, see:

You should set it in parameters component in menu link to gallery:

Thanks Jan.. it is really so simple!

Parameters Components override Global Configuration parameters.

It doesn't matter what you set in Phoca Gallery Parameters. When pagination is hidden in Component settings, then nothing is shown.

Simply said - go to Menus -> Main menu -> "Your gallery link" and change settings for pagination IT WORKS!
