Is there a setting for automatic thumbnail background sizing

Post by armstead »

I realize there is a lot of documentation and other posts about thumbnail resizing. However, I have not been able to find the answer to this specific question. Sorry if this is a duplicate.

I have galleries that contain pictures of varying sizes and dimensions. I would like to be able to generate thumbnails that fit the different images specifically -- without cropping. Is there a way to do that?

For example, I might have one picture in which the resized thumbnail is 250 by 300 px. Another picture is 200 by 325.

If I use the themes and thumbnail controls I realize I can alter the size of all thumbnails to one specific size. But it leaves empty and sometimes awkward space around the images that don't conform to the same ratio

So is there a control or method so that the images will be resized, and the border and frame can fit them whatever their specific size and ratio?

Thanks for any help.

is there a way to basically resize all of the images,

Hi, just add the images step by step. Add images which one size and create thumbnails, then change the parameters (different sizes) and create thumbnails from other group, etc.

Mostly it is good, if e.g. the medium images are cropped with the same size and only large thumbnails has other sizes (if you will use image method - https://www.phoca.cz/documents/50-phoca/ ... al-advices (8) there should not be problem with displaying detail in different sizes)
