Phoca Gallery Install

Hi,

I have tried in vain to upload and install com_phocagallery_v2.7.6.zip to my site on 1&1.de:

first attempts ended by 500 server internal error

now I am left with:

Warning: zip_entry_read() [function.zip-entry-read]: The bytes parameter must greater then zero in /homepages/??/???/htdocs/htdochds/libraries/joomla/filesystem/archive/zip.php on line 238

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 512 bytes) in /homepages/??/???/htdocs/htdochds/libraries/domit/xml_domit_lite_parser.php on line 135.

joomla 1.5.22
php 4.4.9
mysql 5.something.

Other information available upon request.

I would very much like to use Phoca gallery since now I have some experience and the provisional replacement fwgallery is much less tunable. But without an working installation I will not be able to use any features.

Any help appreciated.

Hi, this is more Joomla! question. As installation is made by Joomla! itself, Seems like there are some problems with unzipping the component and memory. So you need to find way how to install extensions without having them zipped. Try to use the install from directory method in your joomla. (It means the component will be unzipped on your PC, ftp to temp directory on your server and in Extension Install in your Joomla! administration - it will be installed from directory.)
