Select folder for user upload

Is it possible to add so when doing an upload from the frontend the user can select which folder to store in? I don't want to give the users Manager access just so the can upload files in the correct folder. Another nice feature would be to set default directory for each category to avoid that all files are stored in the same directory.

Maybe a feature request refine ... would be nice to associate category wtih specific folder for upload. The file management will be much easier and another upload foder selection can be done only by power users.
