When a category is selected, the category title is displayed but also the domain name. Where is phoca gallery getting this from?
Example: domain.com - 'category title'
thanks
Colin

Hi, not sure what you mean, you should check the site name and the parameters of menu link (if it is not added in parameters)

Re: viewing images in a category
Hi Jan
When I select a category from the category list layout, the new page loads ...
This is the title : joe-harter.com - Mickey - Chestnut - Mare - 9 years
This is the category description:
Birth:
Gender:
Size: 1.72
Color: Dark Bay
Studbook:
Level: Prix
Breeding: Colorado x Sid sorrell
I dont know how to stop 'joe-harter.com' from being added to the category title.
Also, the site menu is no longer displayed at the top of this page (same when viewing all categories)
Hope you can help
thanks
Colin

Hi Jan
I did have this working OK ..... but now cant seem to get back to the same status.
In the menu, the item I created is hidden.
The menu module I created is enabled
Please can you direct me to the documentation I must have looked at so I can go back step by step
thanks

Re: viewing images in a category
The parameters are mostly created by Joomla! and they are not written in some Phoca Documentation.
You need to go to menu link of Phoca Gallery and check all the right side parameters. e.g. parameters basic, parameters component, ...

Re: viewing images in a category
Hi Jan
I have checked the hidden menu item in all parameters sections and cannot find anywhere that makes a reference to 'Phoca gallery Category List'.
This is the process I am following
1. Click on Horses for Sale - browser page title says 'Horses for Sale'
2. Select a horse - browser page title says 'Phoca Gallery Category List'
3. When the category opens the category name is displayed after 'Phoca Gallery Category List'
Here is a link : -http://joeanna.joe-harter.com/phoca-gal ... -new-horse
In other menu items, the selection of the 'Menu Item Type' gives the option to display the category title but in the 'Phoca Gallery Category List' this is not possible.
Please could you take a look at the backend for me? I cannot send you a PM so could you send me one with an email address so I can send you login details?
many thanks
Colin

Re: viewing images in a category
Hi Colin,
backend --> Menus --> Hidden_Menu --> Phoca Gallery Category List --> Menu Item: [ Edit ] --> Menu Item Details -->
Title:=(As you like)
Alias:(As you like) The Alias you see in the URL joeanna.joe-harter.com/phoca-gallery-category-list/category/15-new-horse
Save your settings!
Kind regards,
Benno
Yes, because Phoca Gallery Category List is the title of the link to Phoca Gallery Component I created for you, to eliminate the 404 errors you had before. You can rename this menu item title and the alias as you like.2. Select a horse - browser page title says 'Phoca Gallery Category List'
3. When the category opens the category name is displayed after 'Phoca Gallery Category List'
backend --> Menus --> Hidden_Menu --> Phoca Gallery Category List --> Menu Item: [ Edit ] --> Menu Item Details -->
Title:=(As you like)
Alias:(As you like) The Alias you see in the URL joeanna.joe-harter.com/phoca-gallery-category-list/category/15-new-horse
Save your settings!
Kind regards,
Benno

Re: viewing images in a category
Or go to menu entry - Parameters (System)
Page Title: Your custom title here eg. (Domain - Black Horses)
Show Page Title: Off
Otherwise this can be solved globally for every menu record, to add the domain name after or before each page title, was a damn old plugin and should search in my archives for it.

Re: viewing images in a category
Thanks to both for your suggestions.
I did the following in the hidden menu Phoca gallery item
Firstly, changging the Title and Alias, then saving them gave me a 404 error, so I switched them back.
So, then I changed the 'show page title' in system parameters to No, this did not do anything
I then went into system parameters and renamed the page and set it to show page title and bingo it worked !!!!
Really pleased, this was a real problem to me, thank you very much.
How do I mark the post as solved?
Also, Benno, perhaps I did not follow your instructions properly? I'd be happy to try and solve it if you have any idea why the 404 was displayed by changing the page title and alias. I may be able to help someone else one day if I understand better
