Joomla 1.6
Phoca Download 2.0.0_rc
I am building a new site in Joomla 1.6 and I used Phoca Download. Everything was working just fine. About two days into development I went to change some settings in Phoca Download and there was no menu item in the Component menu in the administrator back end.
Yes, I am logged on as Super Administrator.
I reinstalled the component and the menu item is back where it belongs. All I have to do is rebuild the categories, etc. I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this and what I might have done to cause it, or more importantly... what can I do to keep it from happening again?
Any advise would be appreciated very much.

Re: Component Disappeared from Menu in Administrator area
Hi, seems there are still some problems in Joomla! I saw some similar topics about missing menu items (while installing extension, etc.)

Do not use unstable environments such as PHP 5.3.xx
Do not use the build-in FTP Layer in Joomla!.
Look for HSP which allows u to maintain own php.ini for each subdomain/domain.
