wrong detail window size

Greetings!

The standard setting for big images is 640x480. When I change this to 800x600 the pictures are displayed in the correct size, but most of the available detail windows (like modal box) do not adjust accordingly. Instead, the pictures covers the controls for switching etc.

How to solve this?

I tried exactly the same and couldn't get it working properly either. Checked out the sources and found several hard coded 640 values. So I got it as as far as 800x600, but every time a picture is show/build up, it starts with 640 en then enlarges to 800. Not very nice to look at and not all paths to your picture behaved on the same way.
Eventually I gave up using the 800 width.
So I'm back to 640. You cannot have an exact match of all your wishes when using open source software...

You are right. But if the implications are not considered in the first place, then why even offer changing the values in the first place? Also, I see this as very basic must-have functionality with much higher priority than many of the other offered features.

If you change the size of your thumbnails to 800x600 and you set the size of detail window to same size (plus e.g. description or button area), e.g. to 820 x 660 (plus 60 for description or buttons), I see no problem there

Phoca Gallery doesn't set fix sizes for thumbnails nor for detail windows, maybe you mean the default sizes which are called if on parameters are saved. Every parameter in Joomla! must have some default value, in case no parameters were set, but it does not mean, the parameter is fix. If it will be fix, then it does not make any sense to list it in parameters.

Haha. You're right. I just discovered the feature to adjust it manually. Please excuse my blindness I was expecting it to handle it automatically. You can delete this thread
