"Image Size Beside Category Name" and "image in the categor"

Hello. I have a question. I need to make size "image beside category name" and size "images in the category" differents.
Size of image in category is "medium size", so i made "Image Size Beside Category Name" is "small", but nothing happens. Whatever, size "image beside category name" is medium.
P.S. I hope I'm sufficiently confused wrote.)
