I haven't used single add only multiple add, but it doesn't work. I tried using Cyberduck, so I don't have to upload the pictures directly via logging in on Joomla, but I keep on getting the same error as soon as I press Save in de phoca settings. And the error keeps on referring to imagemagic.php line 220. I just don't get and running out of ideas. I also tried enabling and disabling error reports, but when I disable I can't even use phoca (can't select it in joomla), so that didn't work either. I've tried other forums on this site, but none of the discussed issues are an exact match to my problem.
Any further ideas?? I really hate the fact that I can't upload any new pictures now
Hi Jan, Joomla in combination with Phocagallery has been working fine so far. Only since recently can't I upload any pictures. It's just not clear to me what has suddenly changed. I have changed anything myself.
And if I do need to consult an expert, than what kind of expert?? Strato (where I registered my website), Joomla, Phoca??
Hi Jan,
I've contacted Strato, but nothing has changed with regard to my server or its settings. Everything seems perfectly fine according to Strato. They don't really know the answer either but suggest it has something to do with scripts. I haven't chaged anything in the scripts cause I don't have much knowledge on scripts, regarding changing them and html codes. So still the fact that I can't upload pictures is a mistery. I've asked others who have their own websites and use phoca, but they don't have any problems. I'm seriously out of ideas here
Hi, this is then problem for everyone in this forum, in fact there is no way to detect the problem without your server hosting will detect it or someone will find documentation (errorLog or accessLog, or other) what was chanded and then stopped it working
So in short there's nothing I can do??? That would be a real disaster, because that means I can't ever upload new pictures in my gallery. I've thought about completely removing phoca and starting over, but that problably means, that if that doesn't work, I'll have no pictures at all anymore. It's too much of a risk for me. I just don't understand how it is possible. But since more people have this problem, probably the problem isn't the server. Can't imagine that coincidentally for everyone something has changed. Like I said before, I'm out of ideas and many others at this forum also. Very frustrating Í must say
thanks for trying to help and please inform if you should hear of any solution. I really hope that someone can solve this or that in someway this can be solved
if I were you, I would try creating a sub domain (for example www.mywebsite.com/my-second-website) and then uploading, installing, etc Joomla into that domain. Subsequently, I would also install Phoca gallery there and see if it works in that sub-domain. If it works, then there is chance for success if you re-install Phoca in your main site.
P.s. Consult documentation and tutorials on how to install a sub-domain, just not to make more problems. If you need help with that just let me know.
Thank you (and Jan) for your input and for trying to help. I've already (well....finally actually ) figured out the problem. The folder permissions need to be set to 777. I thought I tried that already before, but...guess not! Eitherway, it works, I can upload pictures again, and I'm very happy about it Sometimes the solution can be so simple
