problem with Phoca Gallery 2.7.2 and IE6/7/8

Hello everyone,

I am using Joomla 1.5 and JA Lead template and Phoca Gallery for quite a while already. It was working fine in Firefox, Chrome and IE.

After upgrade to Joomla 1.5.0.20 and Phoca Gallery 2.7.2 I noticed that some of the pages on my site doesn't work properly in IE while working fine in Firefox and Chrome. Upgrading Joomla to 1.5.0.21 didn't fix this problem.
Here is the example:
http://fromitaly.ru/ - doesn't work properly.
http://fromitaly.ru/index.php/news - works fine in all browsers.

After some while I noticed that pages I have problems with contains Phoca images, so I guess problem might be in Phoca gallery plug-in?!?!? I will try to upgrade Phoca's level and see if problem goes away.

In the meantime what do you guys think, how can I do troubleshooting in this case?

Update:
Actually just noticed the same thing on my 2nd website.
Same versions of Joomla and Phoca, different template.

http://jusdorange-paris.ru/index.php/co ... w2010-2011 - doesn't work well in IE6/7/8, work in Firefox and Chrome. Has Phoca Gallery images.
http://jusdorange-paris.ru/ - works fine in all browser, doesn't have Phoca images.

Version of Phoca Gallery Plug-in I use is 2.7.2.

Update:
Created a test page with a single image on it, works fine. When I create a "link" to all images in category - same problem appears, as described before.

Update:

Let me give you a hint... I was playing with Phoca to see where the problem is coming from... I created a new test category and added some of existing pics to it, then published on the page using Phoca button and plug-in. I've noticed that some images are rendered properly (old images I added quite a while ago) and some causes that problem (quite recent ones, I didn't do a lot of testing lastely assuming that Phoca should work fine with all pictures). And again this problem is showed up in IE, Firefox and Chrome are fine.

I can give you pic specs if needed.

Ok...Looks like I've located the problem:

If category contains more then 21! image - then plug-in screws the formatting.

So if category has 22 images - formatting is getting bad, since plug-in tries to fit 6 imgs in the single row (I can see it only in IE. In Firefox and Chrome it is all fine, I can see 5 imgs in the row).
If you add 23d imgs to the category (and/or more) it ruins the formatting entirely in IE only again.

So can you pls take a look into this issue?

Update:

Actually I noticed that IE screws the page formatting if you will try to render more then 21 image on the page from any category. (so it is nothing to do with Phoca categories.


Is there any setting where you can limit number of images in the row?

What I found today was really wierd...
I move the whole site to my localhost (a quite old build of xampp) and found out that it works as it should in IE.
Now I can't understand a thing...

Any ideas?

I basically compared generated html from page with problem running my local machine(works fine on local) and running on hosting (has problems).


The difference is in the style tag. For some reason on remote machine I can see duplicates of stype tag:

on local machine this stype tag occurs only once for class .bgPhocaClass

(code removed by admin - not needed anymore)

while on remote hosting:

I can see lots of multiple copies of this tag, looks like the number of these copies equals to the number of imgs I try to display.

Same thing with <script type="text/javascript">.

So same code runs differently in two enviornments.

Hi, try to check your php settings.

E.g. some php4 cannot get info about loaded code on your site. Seems like your localhost is working ok and when it gets info, the style was loaded yet, it is not loaded more times
