phoca gallery with Xmap no index images

Hello friends I am new to joomla
and installed and set up a gallery of images with Phoca gallery

I have also installed a SEO component Xmap to install a
plugin; Phoca Gallery1.0.0 April 2009 Autor: Aleksandar Bogdanovic <albog@banitech.com>

My problem is when I look at my site map I see that images are not indexed

had settled the difference because I have another website in which if the indexea me
is: http://masde40.lobuscogratis.com/index. ... 1&view=xml

I would like to know if this is the configuration of my Phoca gallery, as I would love to index my images
or if there is another way to achieve the same result I'm looking for

Hi Jan, thanks for your interest.
Xmap support Phoca Gallery with an extension that's correctly installed and activated but there are no options to configure more than this so i can't figure why the categories are indexed inside the sitemap.xml and the images not.
I hope that someone in the forum have got the same problem

I have this same issue. I've emailed B.A.N.I. Technology, but no answer as of this date & time.

I'm VERY interested in addressing this issue since I have over 500 images that I want Google's image search to be able to index.

Hi, I have done some modifications for the Xmap Phoca Gallery plugin, I will paste the link to this file (when I will be on my PC) but the images will be not displayed in this solution too.

Why?


Mostly the images are displayed in Popup window, but for displayig them you need to specify URL which then displays the image in no popup. But Google or other search engine does not include such behaviour (of course, because it doesn't know your site settings), so it can happen that it will create link to image and paste it to search engine outcomes. Then such link will link to image without any menu items without nothing to be displayed on your site. In such case user click such link and get only image in the browser (no menu links, no modules, nothing) so in fact such link is not helpful for the site but it only confuses users.

This is the feature of html (it has advantages but has disadvantages too )

So in fact the creating links to images and adding them to search engine only makes sense in case, you are using "No Popup" method, then it makes sense to create links to images with help of Xmap.

Ok Jan, this explains why Google and Xmap doesn't see any Phoca pictures, but is there any other option for No Popup? Can it at least display a picture on a page with menus and everything?

Hi, sorry I have made the Xmap plugin for Phoca Documentation and thought I have fixed the plugin for Phoca Gallery (but didn't). Didn't changed the original plugin for Phoca Gallery For now I don't know any plugin which will load the urls for images

I have the same problem.

Xmap indexed just Phoca Gallery Categories but didn't indexed the individual images (Eg. the images added by Phoca Gallery Plugin like in the following page: http://www.vizszintmero.hu/lizimeterek/ ... izimeter-2 ).

Thus I made a sitemap with an other software called WonderWebWare. In this sitmap there are indexed the individual pages as part of a slideshow ( http://www.vizszintmero.hu/index.php?op ... 30daily0.5 ) ... It could be a partly solution for me. The only problem is, that the user can't navigate from this page to my site ...

If there is a solution for this problem then I'm interested in it.
