Menus missing on Guest book page

Post by Energy48 »

When I click to go to the guest book page, the rest of the menus on the site do a disappearing act. Because of this the only way back from the guest book page is to use the back arrow in the browser instead of a menu item of the site to take me back to my previous page.

Is anyone experiencing this problem and how do I resolve it?

Hi, you should try in module settings, if they are displayed on sites with menu item id of the guestbook.

Hi Jan,

I don't understand.

The guestbook menu is part of the main menu which displays OK on all the pages on the site. This means the module, "main menu' is working OK. The problem of the vanishing menu happens only when I click the guestbook menu and the page changes to guestbook.

I hope I explained the problem better this time round. Thanks!

Hi, in Joomla! you can assign modules to menu items - to menu IDs. So if the modules (I don't mean the menu module) disappear after clicking the guestbook link, you should check if the disappeared modules are assigned to this guestbook menu link id ... you can assign module to all menu links, to selected, etc. in module settings.

SORTED :D

I worked it out.

There are two templates running side by side on the same site. I have to assign the template I was using to the guestbook. When I did this the menus reappeared.

Thank You for your help. Much appreciated
