Cannot hide category

Hi all, sorry for my english ,

I can't hide category which I can use only for inserting images into articles. I put "system" category name in a global setting to Hide Categories (like here: https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... egory_List_ - Hide Categories), but it appears between displayed categories on my web.

Hi, you need paste an ID of the category not a name.

thank you Jan for your help.

I tried it and inserted ID of unwanted category, but nothing happen It is allway visible.

Second step I inserted ID's of "wanted categories" to "Show categories" in config and by this way it runs. Now I can see only nonsystem categories on my web. But it is not good, because I have only one unwanted cat., but many of wanted categories.

Hi, no idea what can be wrong there, if I paste hide categories ( separated by ; ) I get them all hidden

Did you add them to parameters component in menu link to gallery?

Hm,

Until now, I've tried it in global settings of component. Now I put ID number of unwanted category into setting of menu link to photogallery and there it works without problems.

My english is terrible, so in czech :

Dosud jsem to zkoušel nastavovat v globálním nastavení komponenty. Pak jsem zkusil vložit ID nechtěné kategorie přímo do nastavení odkazu v menu a tady to funguje bez problémů. Tak nevím, kde byl zakopán pes, ale jsem spokojen.

Parameters Component overrides global configuration, so if parameter components includes zero e.g. then it will override the selected category Ids in global configuration:

How to hide sub-categories (not category)?

Hi, see the link above, you can hide subcategories in Category view or in Categories View in Category View (this is disabled as default), see the glossary too:
