Upgrading question

Hi,

It has been a while since I updated phocagallery, so I am still at version 2.2.4
I am planning to upgrade to 2.7.4 but was wondering if this can be done immediately or if I need to take some steps in between. I have read the documentation, but it said nothing about compatibility problems between 2.2 and 2.7, but since I have a lot of photos I wanted to make sure...

Hi, there should be no problem to upgrade directly (but of course computers are computers, you never know, so you should do a backup befour upgrade) ... While upgrading new files will overwrite old files (there should be no problem) and then the upgrade script will try to recognize which columns are missing in your database, such columns will be added. The last step is that some data needs to be migrated from old format to new format in database and there can be problem in case the database is not correctly set. I have made different tests (upgrading between different versions where some of them were very obsolote and everytime I got the right output)
