templates

Post by gonzalocalle »

Hi,
I am using Phoca gallery on Joomla 1.5
I have posted some questions regadring problems, but I realized that some of them are caused because the template I was using.
Phoca works perfect with Rhu Milky and Ja Purity and Bees, but I was using a different ones and could not upload images.
Eg, I used mx_jofree3 and siteground-J15 , and alwasy shoed > Failed upload, could not move the file.
In order to not loosing time for everyone, please confirm if Phoca only works with joomla default templates or what's going on.
By the way all chmods and permissions were activated.
Thanks

Hi,
Me again. Well, I decided to keep the default templates and using the Ja purity.
I changed some elements> Header, logo, size of header and logo ad now I also can't upload images.
So, please tell me if there's some small change in the joomla's templates that will be a problem for Phoca?
I am wasting time changing templates, so please confirm or what's going on?
Thanks
Gonzalo

Hi, moving file should be not caused by template. Mostly only design issues or some javascript issues are caused by conflicts with some template.

Moving files - it can be caused by problem with permissions or ownership of the files or folders, so you need to check permissions or ownership of files and folders, try to enable FTP layer or disable, etc., see:

https://www.phoca.cz/documents/38-tools/ ... nd-folders
https://www.phoca.cz/documents/50-phoca/ ... y-settings
https://www.phoca.cz/documents/16-joomla ... rs-on-site

etc.

Hi, Jan
Thanks for your prompt reply.
I read all links you sent me.
I have activated permissions and all phoca files are on 777 and templates.
I can't upload images to phocagallery folders but I CAN on joomla Media folders.
I have reinstalled three times Phoca and always is the same. At the beginning I can upload images, but
can't do it afterwards. I changed the template to other Bees Eg, and it is the same.Once I made some change and made pemissions too, can't upload
Any help?
Thanks
Gonzalo

Hi, seems like you have problem with ownership. The script which installs Phoca Gallery and its folders (e.g. images/phocagallery) has other ownership as the script who works with images ... then you cannot reach files with other ownership ... so I think (maybe) this should be a question on webhosting provider and to check the ownership of the files and folders (maybe  )

Thanks, Jan
Well, configuration.php, com_phoca and subfolders, template are on 777.
My hosting allows to give permission to all.
So, what are all other files or folders that I need to look at ?
The point is how come I can upload on Joomla's medioa folders and can't on phoca?
Thanks

Hi, did you read the post above, not only permissions are important, there is OWNERSHIP too, and if the folder was created with other ownership than you are using for script then setting 777 for permissions does not help (if this is not correctly set on server e.g.) ... :(
