Trouble Loading photos

Hello
I have Phocagallery 2.6.2
I have had the gallery up and running for 11 months.
I am trying to load photos with the phoca up loader.
I have tried all three methods
I can not create a new folder in the Multiple add page. The top of the page a circle with a minus sign and reads "JFolder::create: Could not create directory" two times
Under that it reads a Circle with an upside down explanation mark and "Folder was created".
The new folder is not listed.
