I tried to get Phocadownload working with Joomla Standard SEO. I spent a little time searching for a solution and found out that various people had problems with this. I know there exist a few explanations (e.g. here on the board), which recommend to create a menu-link to phocadownload component. but for me it was not exactly clear what exactly to do now or what kind of link to create.
Example:
Imagine you have created three phocadownload sections with files, e.g.:
appledownloads, peachdownloads, bananadownloads
Then you include e.g. a file from section appledownloads in an article
{phocadownload view=file|id=4}
When you enable SEO in Joomla, the download Link does not work any more.
Solution:
Create a Dummy-Menu which is not displayed on the site.
Name it e.g. dummy-appledownloads.
Insert there a Menulink to Phocadownload ->Section Layout
select on the right top the section "appledownloads" and save.
Now SEO works for that section.
Repeat this step for all sections out of which you want to display downloads.
