ALT Tag

Post by mikac »

Hi all,

I didn't have time to read, and I'm sory if someone already answered this but...

I realy need my pictures to have ALT tag , so search engines can see my Photos, now they are invisible.

How to this? I have like 2000 photos and is there some easy way to do this alt tag?

Thank You.

Hi, you can set in Parameters which information will be displayed in ALT of an image ( title, description or combination)

https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... -menu-item

(not sure if the ALT parameters are documented yet, but you can find them in Parameters - e.g. parameters component in menu link to gallery)

Thank You for your answer Jan.
I found in Parameters where to set ALT value, just not sure about one thing though...
For ALT value I can set 10 different settings...and most of them include "Title". I'm not sure where do I set this Title for each picture? Is that a picture name, alias, or something else? Its really important for me to set this Title value. Please help.

Thanks

One more thing...

I made image categories offcourse, but I made one parent category (Food Categories) and all others are in that one. I have 12 categories with its own Subcategories. But, what I want to do is, that when I click on the Image gallery I want this 12 major categories to be displayed, something like this Image
and then when I click one categorie I can see its subcategories.
The problem is that the first page displays everything, all subcategories, Image and when I turn off "Display Subcatgories" I don't see anything Image

I hope You can help.

Hi,
if I understand you right you have
1 first level categorie(s)
12 second level category(s)
and a lot of third level category(s)
you want to display at first the 12 second level category(s)? and then the third level category(s)
If that is right, the most easy way to do this, is to change your category structure and to delete the first level categorie.
Kind regards,
Benno

Yes, that is exactly the case.
If You could just tell me how to delete this first level category without accidentally deleting this 12 second level ones?
Do I have to do this manually for each category and its subcategories, or I can just delete the first one?

One more thing...Is there any way to set thumbnail background to be transparent? Image You see how it is with this white background.

I think if I manage this 2 things I would be perfectly satisfied with Phoca Gallery, and I wan't bother You anymore!

Thanks a lot!
Greetings, Milan.

p.s. Sorry for this Flicker image, just couldn't find a better way to attach a photo. Hope You have account there. If not...I will find another way to show You, but I think You know what I mean with this white thumbnail background...
