Access Rights

I want to make it so that only a single user has access to each gallery that I create.

I had this working by setting access level of the category to "registered users" and the access right to the specific user. To access the gallery, the user had to type in their username and password. Somewhere along the lines, this stopped working. Now, when I try to open up the category it goes to an empty page and no longer prompts for the username and password.

Can someone advise me on how I can get it back? Very desperate here to get this work
