MP3's play in firefox when trying to download?

anyone know why when you go to download an mp3 in firefox it opens quicktime and plays it?

Also, the player doesn't' show properly when you go to play a file??

No idea there, maybe try to check server settings, if there is now limit settings or similar

this s strange, because now they play in IE using windows media player and in chrome, where as they downloaded before? nothing on server preventing it, should just be a straight download of the file no?

Yes, the server (browser) gets information so the file should be downloaded not played e.g.
