Captcha image after udgrade

In my case it looked like it this:

-removed PG completely
-upgraded J to 1.5.17
-installed PG

After that I used tips from previous posts and changed the method of captcha posting which solved problem.

I am still having the same problem after uninstalling, upgrading Joomla and installing again. I have found that disabling SH404SEF fixes it. It seems that it is an issue with the component rather than SH404SEF as it worked fine with the last version of Guestbook. Is this correct or is it an SH404SEF issue?
