SteveO,
I had exactly the same problem while using "Standard Modal Popup" as detail window style. Now, as strange as it sounds, when I changed the detail window style to "JAK Lightbox" everything worked as advertised. Maybe you should check and give it a try.

Re: Category Is Not Published error
I changed it to JAK Lightbox but now another error comes up
It works just fine but on top of the list it says "Warning: implode() [function.implode]: Invalid arguments passed in /serverpath/public_html/plugins/content/phocagallery.php on line 1552" <-- changed the path a bit for security reasons.
This is line 1552
This error shows up for every album there is in that category so if i have 5 BMW albums i get 5 of the same errors on top.
When there are 2 albums i get 2 times the same error.
I like JAK better as the Standard but not when it shows errors.

Steve,
try to start fresh. That means no fiddling around in Global Parameters. Also, in the article delete the call to Phoca gallery and put it in again with all standard parameters. When it works (at my site it does) make your desired changes step by step. That way you can figure where (and maybe why) your new error occurs.
Cheers (I've just filled a glass)

Re: Category Is Not Published error
I appreciate your help and attention. This is by far the best product of it's kind and I will 'hang on' until it is solved.
Start Fresh is quite a bit easier said then done. I actually did that a few months ago when the upgrade started causing problems. I uninstalled, installed an older version, recreated everything then upgraded. I've got hundreds of photos in dozens of Galleries. No help.
It would be great if you can provide an update that will fix this without having to "Start Fresh" again. As I'm not the only one having this problem, it seems that it would be something worth understanding and solving. Your request that I "Check your Joomla Installation" a/k/a "It's not my problem" does not seem like a valid path to a solution.
Thank you,
Mark

Hi, maybe there is some cache problem so the message is displayed and should be not displayed. I am testing it and get no such behaviour so still no idea what should be fixed or changed

Re: Category Is Not Published error
I have started getting this on one site I look after. It is a transient problem, so getting to the root of the problem is tricky.
It seems that there was a menu item which pointed to a category which no longer existed. I don't know why this would cause an issue, but once I fixed the link, we no longer get the message...
Could be a coincidence, but I thought I'd post in case anyone is desperate for something to try.

Re: Category Is Not Published error
I found that error when I was testing. It happened every time i deleted the pictures and categories on the gallery, since I had the 'home' link at the main menu pointing to the phoca gallery, the categorie was also deleted on the link configuration.
So solution would be to check that your links are pointing to the correct categorie every time you change or delete one

Hi, links are created in menu managers in Joomla! so this needs to be customized there
