Batch upload of images not working

According to the manual, when using multiple add of images I should be able to select a folder and have the contents of the folder uploaded. However I cannot select a folder, I can only select files. And I can only select one file, not multiple select of files.

Is there any way to do a batch upload of images to a gallery? I have setup a website for a photographer and there are 270 photos in the first gallery which will take ages to upload one at a time.

I am using 2.2.4 because last week the 2.5 was still in Alpha.
Should I be using 2.5 now? Is that my problem?

Hi, which method of upload are you using:

java upload - java needs to be enabled on PC
flash upload - adobe flash plugin 9 needs to be installed on PC (not version 10 because it doesn't work with this version)
standard and ftp upload - no specific requirements needed

I am just using standard upload. When i clicked on "Browse" to select the folder containing images, it wont let me select the folder. I can only select a file. (one file)

Hi, yes if you are using standard upload, then only one file can be uploaded there. You can upload more file via FTP or in Java Upload or in Flash upload.

Hi, there are 3 methods:

- standard method - for single upload
- flash method - for single and multiple upload - works with flash plugin 9
- java method - for single and multiple upload - works if java is enabled.

Some users doesn't use java or flash so they need to have standard method, so why to remove it ?

When I click Browse Files on the Flash Upload tab nothing happens!!

do you have flash uploader 9 (instead of 10).
Is flash enabled in your Joomla global configuration?

Hi Carolien, yes the flash is enabled in the global.
But I think I dont have flash uploader, searching extensions I found this

Tried this and nothing changed
Is that the correct uploader extension?

Hi, flash is not a part of Joomla! it is a OS plugin (windows, ...). You need to check version of adobe flash plugin installed on your system.

Hi, I am testing it and there is no problem with more files?

I have tested it with FF,IE(7,8)

Did you try to test it with some standard webbrowser like Firefox, Opera, Chrome ?
