I understand the logic you explain wrt Access & Access Rights
So you do an AND check, right?
How should I do it for an OR check?
Our use case:
- several hundreds of download galleries
- VIP users should get access to all
- individual users who don't pay for and are therefore not member of VIP, should be able to access single galleries.
The only way I now see it, is to create a group and access level for each gallery. Each gallery's access level including the VIP group and the specific gallery group to which the individual users would belong who paid for it.
It's a bit of a challenge to explain to my customer. Any better suggestions, please?
Thanks

Re: Access & Access Rights
Hi, so just set all of your VIP to one access group and allow displaying the categories with this access group only

Re: Access & Access Rights
Thank you for your answer, Jan
I do that: all VIP users are in the VIP group and that VIP group is in the VIP Access Level.
Let's assume I set Access to VIP Access Level then for all download Categories.
But how do I then give access to individual download categories to someone who's not VIP?
Let's say user Frank needs access to only one DL category, if I select his name in the Access Rights field, then none of the VIP users have access and neither does Frank because he's no VIP. And I don't want to add him to VIP group because he only paid for one.
An extra field Access Rights OR could maybe solve it and renaming the existing field to Access Rights AND.
Thanks for considering

Re: Access & Access Rights
Hi, group access rights are in fact parent access rights, so if category has them, it is not possible to use user access rights independly. Such way you describe, must be customized, but unfortunatelly, this is not easy.
