how to add an “audio” link/icon that launches an audio player in a pop-up window

Post by stephaud »

Hi everybody !

Instead of “external links” and its icon (in Image>External Link Options), I would like to put an “Audio” icon whose link would launch a local audio file in a pop-up window. Using a shortcode, for example, i don't know...
As you can see in the attached screenshot, I would like the audio icon to be next to the zoom/magnify icon.
Is there a way to do this?
Thanks for advice.

Hi, for now there is no such option as Phoca Gallery is pure image gallery, so this needs to be customized directly in the code
Or e.g. added per plugin into description, etc. (there could be different ways, some would not work in popup but only in iframe, etc. etc.)

Hi,

I suspected as much when I asked the question. It's a shame, in my opinion, that the component isn't more versatile and “multimedia-friendly.”

I did manage to add a button to the description to launch an audio file in a pop-up (using a shortcode and the CK Mediabox plugin), but it shifts pg-item-box-icons-box/pg-category-box-title, etc. And since I have categories where it's not relevant to add a link to audio, customizing the CSS is problematic because it applies to the entire gallery (...). Furthermore, with the tags displayed below the thumbnails, adding a button/link in the description doesn't appeal to me from a design perspective.

Perhaps in a future version, with any luck, Phoca Gallery will integrate these possibilities...

Thank you Jan.
