Sorting by ID Not Working in Category List

In the admin interface, sorting by ID in the category list does not work. The chevron icon changes (ascending/descending), but the list order remains the same.

Ah, it must be the multi-level structure. I have only one category at the first level, so ordering doesn't affect it.
My goal was to delete every category, but I can't delete a parent category if it has a child. So, I thought it would be a good idea to sort the directories in descending order by ID, ensuring that the child categories are deleted first, allowing me to delete all categories in a single step. However, it doesn't work that way in this case.

Hi, where there is unlimited count of possible category levels, the category is always ordered as the whole tree, to not mix parent and child categories together.
