Some little help for a novice :-)

Post by Pierre34 »

I used to use WP because I'm absolutely not a programmer!

For a new project, I have to use Joomla...which has nothing to do with it :-)
I'm learning little by little.

My site will be a sort of database which references all the products of a sport.
Seems An e-shop can do the job.:-)

There will be sports categories, manufacturers...
Instead of having a price slider or entering a price range, I need different fields which perform a filter function: span in mm or inch, surface area cm2 or sq, ratio in mm, thickness, volume.
Then if all going ok...i hope i could add a second hand products area, but it's not the focus now:-)

This demo version is pretty cool:
https://www.phoca.cz/phocacartdemo/items
It would be great to have a tutorial that shows: I want to modify this on the front end, you have to go there in the administration.
Is it possible to have the demo template?

Then when I click I compare products, I want only the technical data to appear for each selected product, no need for the description.

Thank you for your feedback :-)

Hi, see:
https://www.phoca.cz/documentation/115- ... phoca-cart

you can see which additional fields you can use in Phoca Cart and which are recommended for filtering.

The demo is based on Cassiopeia template and user.css

Similar template can be Phoca Premiere (with more advanced features):
https://www.phoca.cz/phocacartdemo/premiere/

Unlike WP, in Joomla it is not a practice to modify extension files and lose changes with each update. In Joomla, template override is used, which allows you to make changes to the template and elegantly overwrite the output of the extension.

Phoca Cart use template outputs and layouts which can be overriden by template files, see: https://www.phoca.cz/documentation/115- ... -overrides
If you find Phoca extensions useful, please support the project
