Admin Notification Emails Going to Spam Due to "Reply-To"

Post by keep2000 »

Hi,

I've noticed that when I enable the "Send Email" function, admin notifications often end up in the spam folder. I ran a test with mail-tester.com, and it flagged the following issue:

-2.503 FREEMAIL_FORGED_REPLYTO
Freemail in Reply-To, but not From

The From address is correctly set to info@mydomain.com, but the Reply-To field automatically uses the guestbook poster's email address (e.g., a Gmail address in this case). This seems to trigger spam filters, especially with recent updates to SpamAssassin.

We’ve had similar issues with a webshop setup before, and it seems like the "Reply-To" field is causing the problem. Would it be possible to either:

Make the "Reply-To" field optional in the settings?
Remove it entirely to prevent spam filters from flagging these emails?
Let me know if you need more details. Thanks in advance for looking into this!
