Maximum characters isn't working

I have it set to default of 2000 but all my entries are being cut off at about 100 characters. How or where can I check to see what is causing this?

2000 are with html formatting, but 100 ??? ... look at your database if there is some restriction... (try to change it in parameters component)...

Hi Jan, can you help me, I have the same problem too.
I tried my other applications written in PHP, it can update my database with more than 100 characters.
But with Phoca Guestbook, the messages are truncated, (about only 100 characters).
I've verified that I set the phoca guestbook parameters maximum characters to 1500.

which version of sql database do you use?

did you set it in Parameters Component too...

I have the same problem.
I was trying to set it in parameters component (if we think about the same) but nothing changed.
Not familiare with mySQL database restriction, and how to chek that.
I'm using joomla 1.5.8

no idea what can be wrong, you can set it in parameters how many characters will be saved into database, the cutting is done before saving ...

Try to set it on both places (set Maximum Characters to 2000):

- Parameters Component (menu link to guestbook)
- and Parameters (Global Settings in Phoca Guestbook Component)
