0 Class 'JError' not found

I've just upgraded to J4 and installed the Phoca Gallery for J4. When I activated it I got the following error message:
0 Class 'JError' not found
I could no longer do anything on the backend of website. I had to go to my host and in file manager rename the Phoca directory before I could regain access to the website's backend.
I have been told that 'JError' has been deprecated and am wondering if there is a problem somewhere in Phoca Gallery.
I have been using Phoca Gallery and Slideshow successfully in J3 and need for it to work in J4.
Any help for fixing this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, can you enable debug mode so you get whole error message including the file and row where this error occurrs?
